A Tool Lanyard Wrist Strap is very useful for close working either repetitively or for long durations using a small tool such as a screwdriver or pliers because it creates an anchor point which holds the tool close to hand. It has cushioned padding offering all day comfort and a short length of tether attached to it which is suitable for small tools with a swivel connector which can be connected to the attachment point of the tool.

There is also a Ring connector which elasticated or coil type tool lanyards can be connected to. Manufactured in one size with an adjustable hook and loop fastening to achieve a comfortable fit.

COMPONENT SPECIFICATION
Elasticated Bungee Tool Lanyard, designed to tether lightweight tools or power tools weighing a maximum of 5kg. It is manufactured from heavy duty elasticated webbing with an aluminium karabiner at one end and a cord with tightener at the other. When connected to a dropped tool this lanyard will stretch to 120cm reducing the falling force of the dropped object on the user by deceleration. When unstressed the working length is 80 cm.

This tool lanyard comes with a 130mm choke loop one end and a 18mm swivel double action karabiner at the other. When working at height dropping tools can prove fatal, using a tool lanyard to tether the tool to an anchor point helps to prevent this from happening.

Produced using high contrast Kinetic™ polyester webbing, it incorporates inner webbing that (in the event of a drop) will stretch under a constant controlled force. The red indicator stitch will pop if the tool lanyard is involved in a drop and should be taken out of service. This tool lanyard can hold a tool up to 10 kg in weight.

This tool lanyard is suitable to use with tools that have a captive handle/eye or to choke around/attach to our range of retro-fit tool attachments.

CONNECTING TO THIS TOOL LANYARD
This Tool Lanyard has the added versatility of a Connector at each end offering flexible connecting between the Tool and Anchor Point. In this example the Tool Lanyard is attached to a Safety Harness.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR DEE-RINGS AND TAPE
• Measure and cut a length of Tape allowing for eight wraps around the tool.
• Peel back a short length of the tapes protective backing film keeping it clean and dry.
• Make one complete wrap of the tool overlapping the tape onto itself.
• Place a Dee-Ring onto the Tool then wrap the tape through it and around the Tool, stretching the Tape tightly for another seven wraps.
• When at the end of the Tape, press it firmly onto itself to secure it.
• Pull lightly on the Dee-Ring to ensure that it is secure- do not remove the Tape once secure.
• A curing period of 24 hours is recommended to ensure a secure bond.

It chokes around the connection point by wrapping the loop end around it and threading the connector end through it. The other end can be connected to a suitable anchor point such as a Safety Harness or Workbelt.

USING THE BELT LOOP
The Tool Lanyard has a steel ring (Belt Loop)sewn into the webbing next to the choke loop.
If a Tool is connected using the Karabiner it can be parked in the Belt Loop when not in use.
